The Ukrainian educational online platform for studying programming and finding the first job of IT Mate Academy attracted $ 1.9 million in investments. It was reported by Mind with reference to AIN.UA.
According to Mate Academy, the attracted funding will be invested in expanding to the American and Polish markets.
The online platform provides a four-month training course in programming in exchange for a percentage of salary after employment. Students study in online courses and instead pay 17% of their salary after employment for two years.
The online academy has 1,300 employed students and 60 employees.
Startup investors are: co-founders of Wise (Transferwise), Teleport, Pipedrive, Bolt. The round was supported by Horizon Capital, as well as TA Ventures and Flyer One Ventures, which supported it in 2019.
